The region
Piemonte is located in Northwest Italy and has an important vocation for winemaking. Production is oriented towards denominations that guarantee origin and quality, i.e. Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Dogliani, Barbera, Asti Spumante, Arneis, Ruché
With 19,000 winegrowing estates, Piemonte hosts 43,500 hectares of wineyards that produce 2.5 million hectolitres of wine every year. Piemonte joined Prowein Düsseldorf in 2015 and it's the better represented italian region at the fair, with more than 230 exhibitors.

BARBERA D'ASTI Docg
Minimum 90% Barbera produced in 110 minucipalities in the province of Asti and Alessandria. The wine is usually aged 4 months, whilst Barbera Superiore requires 14 months aging, 6 of which in oak.
